Social Distancing 2.0

By Ron Wolforth-

While we are practicing and refining the art of a term “Social Distancing” which a vast majority of us had never heard prior to January 2020, let me suggest we go further and expand on its basic tenets and utilize it way past June 1st.

Constantly and continually distance yourself whenever possible:

In Life, from…

  • People who appeal to our worst attributes like envy, resentment, spite, bitterness, vanity, conceit, self-importance, sloth and hubris
  • People who believe in the genetic superiority of a certain few
  • People who believe their insight is automatically superior to their neighbors, co-workers or subordinates. (Arrogant people)
  • Negative, fatalistic and pessimistic people
  • Selfish, vain, self-absorbed people
  • People who preach victimology and identity politics
  • Bullies and vitriolic malcontents (especially online & on social media)
  • Salacious gossip and rumors
  • Poisonous, vapid and/or insidious TV, music or literature
  • Junk food/drink
  • Poor sleep habits

In Pitching, from…

  • People who believe in the genetic superiority of a certain few
  • People who believe their insight is automatically superior to their teammates, peers or players.
  • Negative, gloomy and pessimistic teammates or coaches
  • Teammates that look to coast, do less, cut corners
  • Teammates that whine, complain and bitch
  • Teammates that try to create cliques or exclude other teammates
  • One-size-fits-all programming
  • The ‘Quick fix’, ‘Silver bullets’, ‘The Hack’, ‘The Instant Remedy’, ‘The Easy Button’
  • Strict choreography
  • Cookie cutting
  • Movements or movement segments that do not look natural

If you can practice these Social Distancing measures 2.0, I believe you will benefit yourself a great deal over the rest of 2020…and beyond.

Until Next Time,

Stay Curious & Keep Fighting the Good Fight

Important TBR Updates

  • The COVID-19 virus has impacted nearly every facet of our society. In short, the world is a very different place than it was on January 1st, 2020 and that includes the Texas Baseball Ranch®. In order to limit the number of parents and athletes attending our Elite Pitchers Boot Camps, we are currently reducing the camp enrollment from 45 athletes to 24 athletes. This change will stay in effect until the national requirements/guidelines have been updated. We are also loosening up our cancellation/change policy so that people can be comfortable in making plans now in the face of current & future uncertainty.
  • Due to the cancellation of the college baseball season, we are adding a College Training Session May 15-17.  The group will be limited to 32 athletes.
  • In addition, we have added a “Ranch Remote” training option for people that would still like to get access to and instruction from the TBR staff but prefer to avoid travel due to the virus. Click here to get more information on this NEW, hyper-personalized training option.

Please call (936)588-6762 or email us:

for more details or to sign up for any of these options.
