Choices Are the Meat of Your Daily Diet

By Jill Wolforth –

In the past, I’ve referenced Gary Ryan’s Blair 100 Day Challenge.  The program is set up to help you maximize productivity in the final 100 days of the year.  Coach Wolforth and I decided to do the program a little differently this year by using it at the beginning of the year rather than at the end, helping us to build some great momentum and have an incredible 2021.

Every day, as part of the challenge, there is a short video on a specific performance concept.  The topic I’m writing about today is a summary from one of those presentations and I knew I wanted to share it as soon as I watched it.

We all know the things we want or need to do to help us succeed, whether that be with our relationships, our hobbies, our work, our schooling and/or our sports, etc.  However, knowing is not enough. The real challenge is in the doing.

Simply put, the truth of who you are is what you actually do.  As Confucius said, “To know and not to do is still not to know”.  Yikes, that one hit me in the face.  How about you?

The choices we make are the meat of our daily diet.  So, I ask you, what are you choosing?

  • Confusion or clarity
  • Fear or courage
  • Excuses or responsibility
  • Procrastination or initiative
  • Transparency or deception
  • To take or to give
  • Strength or weakness
  • Persistence or acceptance
  • Problems or solutions
  • To lead or to follow
  • To complain or to applaud
  • Deceit or honesty
  • Strength or weakness
  • Slow or fast
  • Complexity or simplicity
  • Failure or success

Again, we get to make these choices every day.  As Coach Wolforth often says, “Awareness itself is curative.”   I encourage you to evaluate your choices and then do what you know!

Important TBR Updates

  • One of the things we do exceptionally well with our Extended Stay Summer Program at The Texas Baseball Ranch is to help young men map out a plan for progress and help them to stay on track.  If you or someone you know would like to join us at The Ranch this summer, please check out the program at www.TexasBaseballRanch.com/events.  There is an early bird discount that ends on April 16th.

  • Athletes continue to be excited our “Ranch Remote” training. It’s a program for people that would still like to get access to, and ongoing instruction from, the TBR staff but prefer to avoid travel due to the virus or other limitations. Click here to get more information on this NEW, hyper-personalized training option. Space is limited in this program and we only have a few spots open currently so if you’re interested, don’t delay.

Please call (936) 588-6762 or email us: info@texasbaseballranch.com
for more details or to sign up for any of these options.
