Attitude of Gratitude

By Jill Wolforth –

I know the importance of being thankful or grateful and I consciously work at it.

I actually have a Gratitude Journal which I attempt to write in every day.

It helps to remind me of ALL the things there are to be grateful for, things like a good night’s sleep, a beautiful evening walk, a wonderful tasting cinnamon flavored hot tea, a quiet weekend at home, a DQ Peanut Buster Parfait, a cozy pair of slippers, non-stop airplane trips, etc.  You get the picture.

Speaking just for myself, some days my mind and/or body don’t have much positive energy and my gratitude journal forces me to find something good. It’s very important to recognize these good things even when almost everything around you is saying otherwise.

Most of us make it a habit to give thanks and gratitude during the Thanksgiving holiday and most of the time it’s thankfulness for things like family, friends, health, time together, etc.

With the uniqueness of 2020, I think many people are noticing and appreciating more things, more often.  I encourage you to continue with that awareness and the practice of having an “Attitude of Gratitude” especially as and when things become a bit more “normal”.

As I say that, I hope that “normal” doesn’t mean we only count our blessings during the Thanksgiving season, but rather on a regular basis.

As I close this week, I want to express how grateful all of us at the Texas Baseball Ranch are for your continued support of the work we do.  We know this has been a challenging year.  Yet, so many families have still traveled to Texas to make the pursuit of their young man’s baseball dreams possible.  It is remarkable…
You are remarkable!

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
