The limbo with medicine balls.
Here softball players Laura Levert & Sarah Holub get after the "7 Innings of Heck".
Here Travis Lane completes the "Ring of Fire".
Big and small program participants get after the sprints.
Just when Sean Miller thought the tires were getting too easy, Garrett Wolforth jumps on board.
Pitchers enjoy their 3 minute rest time. Just ask Sean Miller and Matt Graham.
Matt Graham, Steven Ferguson and Brian Oates go through some plyo work.
You better bring a change of shirts. Just ask North Texas' Josh Bohack and Northwestern's Eric Binder

Pitchers: Are you one of the few who are determined enough to defy the odds and take your game to the next level?

Are you truly prepared for the long battle ahead?

That time of decision is close at hand. The summer is when champions are created. This summer will be here and gone before you know it! In September you will surely arrive...the real questions is where will that be exactly? For most, sadly the answer is...in about the same place. A place destined for mediocrity.
Will you absolutely, positively be a better pitcher come this September?...or 'hope' that your rivals have gotten worse and/or somehow, someway you were magically transformed into a yound Roger Clemens by pitching a few games in your league this summer? Nice dream! But it doesn't just happen that way. If you want something great to happen TO you...you first must create something great INSIDE of you! Pitching in games will NEVER be enough. Roger Clemens considers the he pitches as the easiest day of his cycle. Hint. Hint. Are you listening? Personally I don't believe 'HOPE' is a very good plan.
Every off season from the time you are 13 until you are 21 you should gain a minimum of 3 mph. What you 3 mph do for you next year? What 5 mph? 7 mph? 12 mph? Jesus Mendoza, Raymond Garcia and Cody Lott are just 3 pitchers in the last 3 summers who gained over 10 mph in a 9 month period! Although velocity doesn't automatically make you a better pitcher...it remains the number one requirement for moving on in levels. But you already knew that.

What you may not have known is exactly how to improve velocity!
We at the Texas Baseball Ranch and Pitching Central don't view velocity in a "YES he has it - NO he doesn't have it" paradigm...but rather we view velocity as a complex, multi-faceted equation with dozens...possibly hundreds of variables...some we can't control such as the genetic markers of height, muscle fiber composition and skeletal structure. But mnay variables we can control. This summer we will address daily the 12 variables we can affect and enhance in that equation. We will improve your velocity.

Velocity is indeed something you can and should improve over the summer (I would say MUST improve if you have any professional aspirations). But you need to know how. Weights alone will not do it. Only a comprehensive program that addresses the manu components of velocity enhancement will ge the job done. 87 DI schools, 19 Academies and 3 Major League organizations turn to our comprehensive program as their gold standard. It's tested. It's proven to be effective.

ANY PROGRAM THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE ARM CARE OR ADDRESS THE HEALTH AND DURABILITY OF THE ARM/ELBOW & SHOULDER IS AN INCOMPLETE PROGRAM.
If you're already in the top 10% of your peers in terms of velocity...are you doing your utmost to protect your arm, elbow/shoulder OR is 'Tommy John surgery' and a 'Labrum tear' just something that happens to someone else? Arm injuries and surgeries are at epidemic proportions...is your arm and body prepared for the demands of High School or College ball? >90% of pitchers are under prepared!

Our summer program is 65% Arm Health and Durability and 35% Velocity enhancement/explosiveness.

So Why Is The Texas Baseball Ranch Summer Program The Answer For Many Pitchers Who Want To Gain Velocity Over The Summer?
The Answer is simple - but definitely NOT easy:

To perform at the next level, over the summer you must build and develop:

Core strength
Functional strength from feel to finger tip
Explosive Strength in the trunk, hips, quads/glutes and lower back
Skill Specific Strength - strength specific to throwing or hitting a baseball
Dynamic Multi Plane Strength - not only linearly by also rotationally and diagonally
Eccentric Strength no just Concentric Strength
Speed/Power/Synchronization/Sequencing/Alignment
A more free, loose fluid, dynamic, explosive and durable arm action
Enhanced and Augmented secondary, antagonistic and synergistic muscles, tendons and ligaments

You must become...not just a better glove hitter...but a better athlete. PERIOD

You must become a more explosive athlete...
With a more electric fastball...
With sharper hard action that supports and encourges later and/or sharper life in all of his/her pitches.
With a more durable and resilient body and arm/shoulder elbow.

And Just How Are We Going To Do That?
Primarily By Knowing What Most Pitchers Do & Doing The Exact Opposite!

Many guys are unfortunately under the delusion they can dink around in their High School weight room or get a health club membership, throw some long toss, pitch in some games and we are all set for great strides in the summer.  But in the quiet of their own thoughts...if they were brutally hones with themselves...they would even admist training that way is a recipe for disaster.

To make large strides in the summer takes discipline...4 days a week intense work at the minimum.  It takes systems and protocols that push and pull the maximim out of you.  It takes variety or you will get bored and your training will become flat.  It takes intensity and competition to draw the best out of you.

The Texas Baseball Ranch Summer Program is viewed by many as the Premier Pitching Program in the United States today.

Summer Program Quick Facts:
  • The Summer Program workouts are held 9:30am - 11:30am Monday thru Thursday.  There will be 2 sessions.  You may participate in either or both.  Session I will run June 2nd - 26th and Session II will run June 30th - July 24th.
  • The Program is held at 5154 Honea Egypt Rd, Montgomery TX 77316, 5 miles north of FM 1488
  • Each one of the four days - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - is distinctively different to ensure freshness in the training.
  • Each day is uniquely intense and balanced so that each day of the cycle we include 1) speed/power/explosiveness, 2) flexibility 3)agility 4) anaerobic conditioning and 5) a great deal of arm care.
  • Every athlete...EVERY day will be monitored and their workouts modified with regards to their weekly pitching schedule, i.e. every Pitcher will reside within one of 3 categories depending where they are in regards to their cycle.  Therefore this absolutely eliminates the excuse of not staying on workout cycle because the pitcher wants to be 'fresh' for the game and therefore needs to take the day off.  That issue has already been addressed.

The 3 Workout Categories:

Red
- Pitching tonight or pitched last night, which means their workout will be significantly scaled down and the focus is upon arm care.

Yellow - Pitched 30+ pitches 2 nights ago or will pitch 30+ pitches tomorrow night, which means their workout will be slightly scaled down in number of reps & intensity.

Green - Hasn't pitched in 36-48 hours and will not pitch for another 36-48 hours, which means their workouts are maximized in both number of reps and intensity.

WARNING: The Texas Baseball Ranch/Pitching Central Summer Program for Pitchers is NOT for the pitcher who typically resists hard work OR won't push past their comfort zone OR doesn't have as a dream to pitch at the Collegiate or Professional Level.  For those pitchers this program would be far too intense and too advancecd.  This program is developed specifically for the driven Elite Athlete ONLY.
